Description
The Seven Sisters is a cliff in South Downs National Park between Eastbourne and Seaford. The Seven Sisters are seven opposing chalk cliffs on the coastline.
From west to east, starting east of Cuckmere Haven, they have the following names, with the valleys in between also having individual names: Haven Brow, Short Bottom, Short Brow, Limekiln Bottom, Rough Brow, Rough Bottom, Brass Point, Gap Bottom, Flagstaff Point (later merges into the Flagstaff Brow), Flagstaff Bottom, Flat Hill
Flathill Bottom, Baily's Hill, Michel Dean, Went Hill Brow.
Even further east is the village of Birling Gap. Behind it is the rebuilt Belle Tout lighthouse and finally the highest point in the area, Beachy Head.
I visited this site during a summer vacation in 1972.
